    Nice one Raymond!!! Nice one!!

Tonight in the Germany-Turkey game you managed to get the "Big Three" wrong.

Now I could take one,two at a pinch, but fcukin all three with the dosh you are getting-BIG RED CARD

He done .. instead of he did

He seen .. instead of he saw

He should have went.. instead he should have gone.

Elementary English I would opine.. all in the one 90 mins, the whole fcukin lot!!

    Basic fcukin primary cert. English.

What kind of money are we paying this guy???

I'm sure in all of your posts here, you've made grammar/spelling mistakes. He makes the same mistakes that most of the people watching him would do, he's still easily understood (or so I imagine I wasn't watching). Big whoop.

As is basic punctuation and spelling:

Is it any wonder the country is in the state it's in,when people accept shoddy grammar, from people who should be corrected, and proper standards maintained.

I am not paying my license fee to hear that kind of stuff on TV.

    It's not good enough.

Let's be honest, Ray is effectively Scottish, he just can't bring himself to speak the Queen's English properly... He's a crap pundit though, whether he's grammatically correct or not.

My point would be that if Ray feels it is easier to use incorrect English, let him do it in his own time.

I wouldn't have any issue with that.

What I would have an issue with, however,is RTE foisting him on and charging us very steeply for the "pleasure".

Anyone can make the odd slip, but three absolute basic grammatical errors in the one 90 mins, sheeesh, not good enough folks, just not good enough.

If I was being picky, OP, I'd say you should take some stock in the fact that you spelt fuck (or variations thereof) incorrectly in your original post.

    Pot. Kettle.

I didn't know commentating on a football match required a degree in English?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,575 ✭✭✭✭FlutterinBantam

It doesn't,however basicEnglish should be a pre-requisite in my opinion.

Especially when one is on the National Public Service Broadcaster, and people are paying good money to access its programmes.

Beats me why people accept shoddy stuff and still pay for it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,716 ✭✭✭✭Earthhorse

It wasn't even 90 mintues when you consider all the interruptions to the broadcast.

I know this 'cos I seen it myself.

Did you miss a few days in basic English when they they were going through grammar and what not?

I'd ask for your money back.

My I dont really give a toss what he says. I can still understand it

Epic fail here, unless you're trolling. You have the rudiments of punctuation, but seem,on initial reading anyway,to be ignorant of the fact that punctuation marks should be followed by a space.Whydon'tyougothewholehogandomitallspacesinyourposts?
