    The second super sharp shooting heavyweight shocker of the summer with one familiar face and one fresh face to grace the Tivoli stage. First up is the Sino man - Joris Voorn with a live show that comes recommended from all the major music festivals across the globe and bigged up by the man like Technasia, Dave Clarke, who knows a thing or two about live techno performances. Voorn has been releasing on Keynote, Wolfskuil, Music Man and his own Green imprint since 2002. Classic Detroit sounds fused with tougher European production feel have beenthe order of the day for the Rotterdam man. Alongside Edwin Oosterwal he has been recording as Rejected releasing on their eponymous label and Sound Architecture for two years and appearing on mixes by DJs as varied as Francois K and Chris Liebing and appearing equally at home in both forms.

    Following on from him will be the original Preacher Man, Green Velvet. Mr Jones is back once again after a string of sellout shows in Temple Bar Music Centre and Tivoli on previous appearances in the capital. One of the true stars and showmen of the house and techno scene, Cajmere will seize the baton from Joris and take it down that home straight like Dwain Chambers running from the wee police. The big man of Chicago will have the hottest Relief tracks alongside some of the biggest tracks around to detonate the Tivoli floor. True to form, along with a dangerous mic in hand, the Green Velvet classics will be given a booming airing.

    The opening ceremony will be ably handled by Dan 'Danny' Power - longstanding resident and so much more behind the scenes - we really wouldn't be able to function without the man like Dan. He'll be hitting up the freshest Detroit & Chicago tracks blended with the underground classics of yester-year. Tickets 25 euro + b/fee from www.tivoli.ie / Spindizzy Records / Beat Finder Records. Doors 10PM.
