sonnofabitch, I was just looking for that driver the other day for an old gateway machine

you might just be using too many search parameters though: it popped right up for me, even though I was actually looking for the 82801 LAN Controller. Why they serialed the two drivers the same, I have no idea.

edit: the driver should be locatable here - http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=131202

I got a few drivers there during my reinstall op. when you click to download the file just choose option 2: view a series of ads to download. just view each ad and then click the link that says No Thanks Im Not Interested for each.

But really once you have your internet working the rest fall into place: you should be able to go into the Device Manager (control panel>System>Hardware>DM) and right click on the audio device and choose Update Driver; the process should be fairly automagic after that. If not, just download that driver and point the Automagic bit to its folder location.

Holy crap I only downloaded these drivers for an eMachine two days ago.

I use nice little application's called Driver Genius and DriverGuide... they give all the stats and even download links. The links don't always work so I copy and paste the filename into Google and bobs your uncle :)

PS: I have an Uncle called Bob... just thought I'd say :D
