Sorry if this is the wrong area, but I dont think its a state benefit thing (is it?)

I want to get my teeth cleaned and I want to know if I can claim for this. I have been working for 2 years full-time, and I heard that I might be eligible to get it done.

    Thanks

    Dellas

    Doubt it.

You can actually IIRC, get some or all of the cost of the cleaning/check-up covered under PRSI.

I'm not sure about what exactly you have to have done work wise but theres a dental forum here that might be able to help.

PRSI lets you get a reduction on dental costs - it's quite a significent reduction. I paid just 30 euros the other day for my check up which also included a polish. I don't think you've worked long enough though - depending on your age you need to have so many stamps. NOt sure of the details sorry. Check the revenue.ie website or ring the tax office. My dental bill last year was nearly 1000 euros but with prsi I only had to pay 300 euros - btw I'm working full time, never had benefits so these reductions are available to everyone. The dentist usually asks you to fill in the form when you go in.

I believe it is covered ("descaling and polishing"). Check by calling the DSFA Treatment Benefit section on 1890 400 400 (Ext 4480) and quote your PPS number.

    Not long enough.
I believe you have to be working for around 5 years before you can claim it on your PRSI.

It also depends on which category of PRSI that you pay. Mine doesn't cover dental. :(
