Anyone heard anything from this brillaint young Scotttish band? Second album was said to be released around Spring 2008 by them in an interview and still no sign!!?

For those who don't know it's the lads who sing 'Same Jeans", "Superstar Tradesman" and "Face for the Radio"

Matter of opinion I suppose. I hate it with a vengeance.

Saw them being interviewed on The Culture Show - a programme I normally have a lot of respect for, but which went down a few notches in my estimation that day. And The View were on it as one of the bright hopes for 2007. What an obnoxious little bunch of ****s. Being all incoherent and unapproachable like a group of sullen teenagers. How "cool".

Oh lord! Must be on my own so! But anyone hear of when it's being released?

"hope for 2007/2008" - NME hype at it's woeful best - group of lads with catchy pub-rock songs and that's it. (Hats off for the their rediculously young ages but thats about it..)

Remember seeing them on TV at Glastonbury last year (I think) with a hugely high profile stage slot on the main stage and the crowd going bleedin mental and it just seemed so wrong! Compared to the amount of original and innovative and seasoned acts that could have taken their place...but that's the glory of mainstream appeal I suppose

They're not that bad, but they are a bit boring.
    Those accents are adorable though!

Anyone actually read the OP's post? He asked a question and in reply got a lot of "they're sh*te/Hate them etc.." How very helpful

No mention of an upcoming release on their website and can't see anything on google either

I found them ok - singles were good but jarred a bit after constant air play (that's the risk of popularity I suppose!)

"I've had the same jeans on for 4 days now."

So what? I often wear the same jeans for 4 days in a row. What gives?

They're probably the worst band in history.

Hmmm just got me the album there yesterday out of curiosity and can see both the reasons for liking and hating them.

They have some seriously catchy tunes. I listened to 'Same Jeans' without having any pre-conceptions or opinions and I quite liked it. Still sounds good after 3 or 4 listens.

Maybe it's because I have absolutely zero exposure to them over here but it's definitely listenable on the iPod while I'm in work.

Wasted Little Dj's, Superstar Tradesman, The Don, Face for the Radio and Streetlights.....;)

    Seriously, give these a listen.

New album 'Which Bitch' will be released on 2nd of Feb...2009!

I advise all yee who didn't like them before to give 'Shock Horror' a listen. It'll be huge and I guarantee you'll be to tell when you listen to it. They've changed their sound and I've yet to see any bad reports about the new album, looks set to be a cracker.

Click here to give it a listen.

    Album review: here

Can't find any other ones I've read!

They do strike me as one of those bands ( Pigeon Detectives, Holloways, Wombats, Fratellis and to a lesser degree Kaisers) whose playing is so basic that they don't really have the 'tools' necessary to develop. So they don't - and the first record is ok but it more or less stops there.

No, I don't even have the first one!

However from what I've heard of them and my professional experience with bands the inability to play above the most basic of standards does impede progress.

JJ72 were a local example, to my mind.
