    Hey,
What do you guys think of the Munster final being held in Limerick.
It's a neutral venue close to both teams involved.
But won't there be a major shortage of tickets?
I'v been to the majority of Tipp games this year, even some challenge matchs.
I don't play for any club but love watching Tipp play. And I think it's going to be difficult for me and my friends to get tickets.
Wouldn't Thurles or Cork be a better venue?
    Or maybe I'm overreacting.

Well, for what its worth now, I thought last Sunday's game should have been in Limerick. Central for both sets of fans. Also would have them travelling from opposite directions and not all down the same road like last Sunday. Rant over:D
My impression was that Limerick now holds almost as many as Thurles.

I don't understand where you're coming from. Better venue in what sense?

    Semple Stadium Thurles: capacity 53,500
    Gaelic Grounds Limerick: capacity 50,000
Pairc Ui Chaoimh Cork: capacity 52,000

All three venues have similar capacities, give or take a couple of thousand. Take it to Thurles and Tipp have home advantage and you're inconveniencing Clare fans. Take it to Cork and you're putting both sets of fans out. Limerick is the most logical venue for the game, taking into account the two counties involved.

You will get tickets, don't worry, you will be able to obtain them from the ticket office in Semple Stadium, online at ticketmaster.ie or at any ticketmaster outlet. You don't have to be a member of any club to obtain tickets from a club, ask someone you know who is a member to get you tickets, they can easily be got.

It does. And it's only fair the Munster Final be spread around a bit, no use building a big stadium in Limerick and never giving it a final.

On a side note, credit to tv3 for changing the camera position in the Waterford-Limerick match. It made much better sense than looking across at that big empty seated terrace the other side (granted it won't be empty the next day, but it was a good idea for that game).

Pairc Ui Caoimh is down to about 44,000 these days.

Anyway, I have always managed to get a ticket for the Munster final. Just keep an eye out, ther'll be no problem getting them, even if you have to wait for the day itself.

Just curious as when you were last in the Gaelic Grounds? You seem to think of it as having a small capacity.

    Thurles is a **** hole.
Impossible to get out of it, Cork is a better venue than Limerick.

If you can't find you're way out of Thurles, you definitely need to go to Specsavers. Without doubt the best venue in Ireland for a match. Several ways to go to Cork or Limerick . Train station short walk to the match.
Cork and Limerick are both traffic congested on a normal Sunday, so it is generally chaos for a match. Both are also quite a distance from the train station.

Theres never a problem really getting tickets for a munster final, it will just about sell-out but anyone who wants a ticket will pick one up, no bother. It will be a bit more difficult than usual with the Tipp bandwagon in full swing now

    Quick question regarding the final
I assume clare fans will be in the Ennis road end and Tipp fans will be in the City end ?
Just checking before I get tickets
For those people looking once tickets are released some will probably go on sale in ticketmaster

Limerick is a good choice - venue will suit both sets of fans equally, and the capacity is up there with Thurles.
About time the venue got a match that will fill the re-vamped stadium ...... what's the point investing the cash if it's not going to be used for big matches?

Impossible to get out of it,
The Thurles i visited last Sunday is one of the easier venues to depart. No great traffic delays like in Limerick, Cork or Killarney.

Limerick is more central and is easier to get out of as regards traffic, its not located right in the dead centre of the city, unlike Pairc ui Chaoimh, which is the worst venue in the country as regards traffic congestion.

Lads, want to book tickets for this, I'v a lot of family from Tipp so thats why I want to go:D

Now, I hate sitting at sports events, so terracing it is, but, what terrace is the Tipp end?

    Cheers;)

Tuxy, the tickets were released on Ticketmaster last Thursday and they're still available. With regards to the selection of the venue I think Limerick is definitely the better choice, Pairc Ui Caoimh is badly in need of redevelopment and getting out of there is a nightmare.
antomorro-sei, I couldn't find anyone who knew for sure, but everone seems to think Tipp will be in the City End, at least I hope so since that's where I got my tickets for!
