I havent a scooby doo where this thread should be but wondering does anyone know what the best answer to the question 'give an example of when you had to deal with a difficult customer! is!?
obviously i know u have to give an example but what are the points the interviewer are looking for exactly. is it that you know how to listen etc etc!
    cheers

I would say that the interviewer is looking for your ability to listen, process the info, find a solution that works for the business but just as important the cutomer

in other words.....customer 'a' came to me with a complaint on a product we sold - said was v.unhappy - tried calling the shop but no-one would assist blah blah blah.....I calmed him down and assured him that we would try and find a solution to the problem. I made sure the customer was happy I would try and resolve - I spoke to my boss and suggested a solution we could provide, boss said yes go ahead and I did - customer left happy.

now the product could be a toaster, a holiday or pretty much anything - you could make a million and one conversations up, telephone or in person - bottom line is to demonstrate your abilities and not just say angry customer, spoke to my boss, passed the problem customer to him!
