Using Creative Media Explorer at the moment but it takes forever to convert. Anybody out there know any good software that'll convert faster to the Zen?

How long is "forever"? there may be faster options... but without a speed reference it's impossible to say whether xxy converter will be faster than the one you are using.

As a side note, usually when you increase the speed of video encoding you will sacrifice video quality.

    *Bump.*

Kinda similar problem here, I've got a 30gb Zen Vision M and it plays all my avi's fine.

Now I got my dad one of the new zen's off ebay, here it is:
    Players_Mp3_Mp4%20Creative%20ZEN%2016GB%20Black.jpg

I transferred an episode of reaper (xvid) to test it out and it wouldn't work :( apparently it's not the correct format, ldo. Well to make it even more curious for me it's supposed to play the bloody xvid format: see here http://ie.europe.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=213&subcategory=214&product=16999

Anyway I tried to convert it in the zen media organiser(from xvid to wmv) but it doesn't convert at all and just gives an error message saying failed/unsuccessful.

Anyway is there another way to convert it? Can someone recommend a good video convertor? Or what the fudge is going on, is it an unsupported version on xvid?

    Thanks in advance,
    Coillcam

Coillcam I have the same Zen that you got your dad and every movie seems to need to be converted, which takes roughly about two hours. My hubby has Zen Vision M and only some movies need converting. Would be nice if there was a speedier process out there :( It's a nice little gadget and the screen's really good to look at too.

All videos put on the ZEN need to have a resolution of 320x240, the xvid format is supported, just has to be 320x240.

Good video converters include "super" or "irivereter".

You can try asking at the creative fansite "epiZENter" to get more knowledgeable answers regarding video encoding for ZEN.
