Another Open Day has been organised after the last one was cancelled because of the mumps outbreak, it's on June 28th 2008 (This Saturday)
Welcome to University Day at NUI Maynooth!

This event is an information day for anyone interested in University Life. Individual Faculties and Departments will provide short sample lectures on the courses and subjects on offer at NUI Maynooth. You can talk to students about their experiences and staff will also be on hand to give information on admission procedures, courses, accommodation, transport, and on the various clubs and societies that are available. Information will also be available for mature students, and for students linking from FETAC and BTEC courses.

More information is available at http://go.nuim.ie

Was up there with my girlfriend, was a pretty low key afair, nothing but the john hume building and the arts building were open and there wasn't that many people there. Think it was mainly for people who knew they were only gonna go for maynooth to come up and have a look around and get information about there elective subjects

Yeah, very quiet. I had to head into campus and was bracing myself for the crowds.

I guess it's to do with the time of year then.

I was always undecided about whether or not to put Maynooth on my CAO but after attending the university day 3 of my options are for Maynooth and one of the lectures led me to remove one of my originals so needless to say I was impressed. It isn't my first choice but I wouldn't be disappointed to be going there.

Why do you need to know?

Biology. It gave an overview of the different biology based courses. I have a huge interest in Genetics but in this lecture discovered that the Genetics & Bioinformatics course is very computer based. This led me to remove it.
