    Hi all.

So heres the story, I play lots of music, mostly acoustic stuff, probably 90% acoustic.
I used to record the odd song with a program called Guitar tracks. It was a cakewalk program.
Recently I got myself some new sofware, I got my grubby little hands on sonar. The only problem is it isn't compatible with my sound card. (i'm certain of this)
At any rate, I'm building my house at the min and want to set up a basic recording studio in the attic. Just something to do as a hobby for fun. So I'm looking for an audio interface. I'm running on XP.

The sad part is, I know I only need something to take a couple of lines in and a couple of lines out.... but I'm a child really and I want loads of sliders and dials etc to make me look cool lol.

What make of interface could I get that wont cost me my left one and has a few buttons on it?

I know I'm sad but humor me please.
    Thanks for the help.

Maybe use Logic instead with this controller

I believe the RME Fireface 400's have good pre-amps in them. I was on a gig for a Danish band a while ago and they had 4 of the 800 interfaces running into Pro Tools. Recording acoustic gtr etc. a good mic amp is going to be important. http://www.rme-audio.de/en_products_fireface_400.php

Any maybe a pair of MK-012 microphones http://oktava.tula.net/index_e.htm
