    Hey Guys,

Real newbie question here. I'm getting ntl digital at home in the sticks (MMDS), and I was just wondering if that means I could get braodband from NTL?

Cant seem to get it any other way, so Im pretty desperate!

    Thanks,
    M

MMDS is just TV, no Broadband on it. Only UPC cable (Chorus/NTL) has the Broadband & phone as well as TV.

So you can't get NTL broadband.

Try various Wireless suppliers. Note that they vary in speed from ISDN to full Broadband and also may vary by mast/location.

In general mobile solutions are not as good as fixed Wireless solutions.

I'm about 14 miles from galway city. I can't get eircom because I think our phone line is split, so I've very limited options.

I've tried three wireless but couldn't get any signal at all!

EDGE is an enhanced version of GPRS that's used for data/WAP on mobiles. It can give around ISDN download speeds, though it wouldn't be as stable as ISDN itself.

EDGE will work fine with any O2 signal good enough for a phone call. The best way to find out is to take advantage of O2's 30 day happiness trial, where you can bring it back for a full refund if you're not happy with it.

Just make sure you bring it back before 30 days has completed.:)
