    Hi All,

I'm really interested in becoming involved in Hotel Managment..But I don't know how to get into it.
I've worked in the industry in the past and have qualified as a chef over
8yrs ago.. I've been working as a Sales Rep for the last six years (with various food companies) But Now I really want to get into Hotel Management as it is something I was always interested in.. Does anyone know what paths are open.. I've been onto a couple of recruitment companies But haven't had any help..

Could you contact the general manager of a hotel and ask them? I'm pretty sure the O'Callaghan hotels hire duty managers who don't have hotel management qualifications.

Jurys doyle use to hire 10/12 Trainnes managers a year before they sold ballsbridge/Berkley ect. Not sure what the situation is now.
The Days Hotel Group also take on a couple a year they would be worth giving a call.
From my experience, you best bet is to find a Hotel to Sponsor you and let them take the cost. most places will do this as long as you sign a contract to stick with for a certian period after qualifing.
DIT do a 2 year, day realese course which is not very expensive.
