gprs data problem on three network

    Hi ,
I wonder if anyone can help gather evidence on my problem.
I am continually being fobbed off by 3.
I have an Nokia E65 and all data applications work fine when I have a 3G signal. However, I live in Ratoath, Co. Meath and 3G signal there can be iffy.
My phone regularly falls back onto GPRS but none of my data applications work and I usually get the error "cannot connect to the internet - try again".

I have tried a different 3G sim and phone (on the 3 network also) belonging to a friend and no matter what way they are paired neither works on GPRS. This eliminates both the sims and the phones as far as I am concerned.

Furthermore, when I am in work in the Blanchardstown area and my phone falls back onto GPRS I have no porblem getting "Planet 3" services. I know for a fact that I am on GPRS because you get a different first screen telling you that you are "You are outside the video services coverage. The following are the services available" and you get a restricted menu of options. To me this proves that there is nothiing wrong with my phone or sim and that the problem is in the cell covering Ratoath.

    Does anyone agree?
Does anyone else have this problem on the 3 network and in what area?
If you have the problem please let me know and maybe even call 3 customer services to report the problem and back me up!!!

    Thanks,
    Sean

But it's not a Three problem, it's a Vodafone one on the cells where you cannot connect. I'm mostly been able to get some fomr of connection on the GPRS but when not it's not really been a big issue for me.

    Thanks for the info.
They have indeed said at one stage they were going to have to escalate to Vodafone. They even called me one Friday and said the problem was fixed and could I check. Lo and behold it worked that night but come Saturday morning it was not working again. I'm not really worried about planet three access but that is all they will discuss because it is "their" application.
My problem is I cannot use Nokia's "Mail for Exchange" to access my email when I am in Ratoath!
