Anyone using FreeBSD on a laptop?

From comments I've seen, FreeBSD is really really good.

Would it be easy for an ordinary user to use FreeBSD?

You should have no trouble at all with it , have a look at this too ( based on freebsd):

http://www.pcbsd.org/

They provide a vmware image so you can try it out first:

* download the PC-BSD 1.5 VMware image
* download 7-Zip for unzipping
* download the VMware Player

Check out the hardware notes on the website. Most of your hardware should work.

FreeBSD 7.0 has a graphical installer. A small blessing but always a welcome addition.
