    Hi all

I have been working in a IT job for the last 4 months which i got through an agency. Although the job is ok its along to to travel everyday and its beginning to take its toll on me. I have other issues with the job but thats not what im here for.

While talking to the agent who got me the interview he said that if i was unhappy after a few months to ring him back and he would find another job.

i'm not too sure how agencies work hence my question, if i were to ring him back and ask him to put me forward/look out for another job would this be a conflict of interest on his part(considering my company paid him to find an employee) would he be obliged to contact my company and that i have contacted him and am thinking of leaving or will he ust look forward to another pay day?

    Cheers

    thanks for the reply.

The reason i want to contact this guy is that he was so helpful searching for available jobs. From other agencies i had talked to these people came far and few between.

I just want to be sure that if i did contact him that it would be a step forward rather than 2 steps back and my employer doesn't tell me im no longer employed because im searching for another job.

    ALL RECRUITERS ARE SCUM

oh no wait, sometime companies outsource to others who can do the job better - I think this happens in IT right????

that doesn't really help me...are you saying he would call the employer or he wouldn't care because he would get paid more for getting me another job?

sorry dur s - just love the continual recruitment bashing.....

They have no right to contact your employer but you can just confirm it with him - sounds like you did get on with them.
