Roaming on GSM and GPRS/EDGE in USA?

    Hi all,

Heading to the US for 3 weeks soon and Vodafone don't have any decent roaming agreements in place!! Unbelievable. If I use their 'partners' it's €1 a minute to reeive a call and wait for it, €7 per MB to surf the net, download emails etc.

I have a small business so need to keep in touch by phone and email. Can anyone recommend a solution which won't cost me the €500 or so a few weeks rack rate roaming using my Irish Vodafone sim will cost?

Is it possible to buy a pay as you go type sim (for use in a Blackberry Curve) which will give me gsm and either GPRS or EDGE? If I could get something like that to keep the email going and use it in travel mode with www.eqo.com I'd probably get by without losing my shirt.

    Any suggestions?

    Ben
