PVR 500 MCE - hardware issues?

I had a problem a while back with my media center on my HTPC (running Vista Ultimate) getting stuck recording one particular show and throwing all sorts of critical errors and crashes.

I finally managed to resolve the software issues and went to re-configure my dual Hauppage PVR 500 MCE tuners. I have the additional bracket for it (similar to this) and have 2 NTL set-top boxes hooked up to it by S-video cable.

No matter what I do, I can't get any signal to be picked up on the additional bracket (tuner 2), though it worked perfectly for a year. I have tried it on s-video and composite with no joy and I have tried it with the output from both set-top boxes - it picks up the signal from both when they are hooked up to the main card, but nothing on the add-on.

I have opened up the case and removed and re-inserted both the main card and add-on and uninstalled and re-installed the driver but I can't get a picture so I'm thinking it must be a hardware issue.

Has anyone come across such an issue before or know if I can just replace the add-on card or do I need to replace the whole card?

It's well out of warranty now so I doubt Hauppage would be much help and this card seems to be discontinued which may be a problem as I have an mATX case and don't think I have space for 2 separate full analog cards, and if it can't handle 2 channels at once all I'll be getting is grief.

    Any help appreciated.
