Licence Endorsed - Mistaken Identity

I'll try to keep this short, but I need some advise as its turning into a right pain ...

I had my first provisional in 97/98. Failed the test.

Only reapplyed last year, & got a letter back from the Tax Office saying I had an outstanding Endorsement on my licence from a traffic offence on Grafton St (?) in 98. News to me.

I eventually found out that a cycle courier had been stopped by a guard, cycling up grafton st. He gave my name, a similar address (same road, different no.) & a different date of birth. He never paid the fine, & somehow it ended up on my licence. How a cycling offence ends up on a Driving Licence, I'll never know ...

I was in court last year, & won the right to appeal. This was last Sept. I'm still waiting.

The problem is that the original case happened before the District Courts were computerised, so the case file is in a box, in a basement, somewhere, & I don't feel the D.C. are too arsed to find it.

Is there anything I can do to push this along & hopefully get thrown out or something ... contact a TD, the Garda Ombudsman ?

    Cheers.
