Going to have to get circumcised apparently.Just wondering whats the difference when masturbating, the way it is now its not a matter of friction between my hand and cock but the foreskin is allowed to slide up and down, when i get circumcised will the foreskin be removed all the way down to the base of my penis or is it just around the head area??
Its just i can picture masturbation being very dry and rough between my hand and a penis with no foreskin.

My ex had to have it done just after we started dating. dont worry BUT you cant do anything for about 3 weeks until the stitches come out. No porn and def wear baggy trousers or take time off work if u cant do that. It'll be a bit sore but after the stitches come out you can play happy, If u really got a kick with the forskin on try use some KY Jelly or Durex play gel as you can stil be tender after all that but u'll be fine

just the skin around the head is removed, and masturbation isn't a problem. You can just put your hand on the shaft but if you want to stimulate the head just use lube. I got the op done a year or so ago, and I wouldn't go back.

Really? How do you feel you've benefited?

    Feel better during sex?

yeah, much better during sex, like 1000%. I wasn't able to retract my foreskin, so there was very little sensitivity, it was very hard to keep clean, it got itchy, didn't smell great blah blah.

So, the three main problems I had with it were:

    1. Painful and irritating

    2. Very self-concious about it, especially when I met a new girl

    3. I knew I'd have to sort it out, and was really embarrassed about going to the docs. So, kept worrying about it.

Question, do you need a referral to see a urologist? Or can a GP sort it out for you?

Turns out i live about a block away from a uroligist, but i'm in Canada, and don't know if i need a referral.

Similar issues to yourself tbh... Except it's not painful or irritating but it does get a little tiring to explain to a girl not to go straight for the head with the oul tongue! Waaaay too sensitive:) It's also embarrassing to go to a doc!! The only other thing that's annoying is that when it does pull back during sex, it sometimes stays that way until the erection goes, unfortunately you don't realise until you pull out and it's really uncomfortable when the head touches the outter bits and pieces!!:(

In ireland you need a referral, and I've not heard of GP's doing it (again, in Ireland)

The first thing you mention there is something that comes up on boards every so often. This pulling the foreskin back for sex.

Have to say, never did it myself. Never felt the need to.

Do many guys pull it back, say before putting on a condom?

Wish we could do a poll in PI...

it probably retracts by itself when you are having sex, but basically in my case the skin lost it's elasticity, the image I always think of is trying to get a polo neck over a head that's too big for it :)

im making a guess here but your going to have the same sensitivity immedietely after the op and for a while after it i assume. the sensitivity can be sorted out simply by doing things like walk around all day with it retracted it will be uncomfortable but you will get used to it. skin is very elestic if its tight to pull back now you should be able to gradually increase how far it can go over a few weeks

of course sometimes the chop is necessary but there are other solutions to these problems for most people i would imagine. having said that my best friend had it done while we were in secondary school and when he finally built up the courage to tell people he said he much prefered it now

    What?

It should come nearly all the way down when you get an erection.

If it doesn't move, there is something wrong.

Do you not pull it back to have a piss either?

eh...i dont do this and there is nothing wrong with my foreskin...i think, just like with all body parts, there is great variety from person to person.

Jaysus Des, you're everywhere. No gettin away from ya!

Yeah I do, but if i have it back during sex, my lad would be WAY too sensitive.

Tried it before but was too sore. No need for me to anyway, get on fine the way it is.

Is the foreskin not a bit annoying especially when it tears?
Its just that my boyfriends has torn twice in the last two months and it takes ages to heal,is that a common thing or will it keep happening?

I've had mine for twenty-eight and a half years, and it's never torn.

There was about a month or so when the frenulum was a bit tender, but that was due to having a lot of sex.

    I mean a lot.

Fair enough,I thought it was common enough for a guy to tear it at least once in his lifetime!
Just wondering because if it keeps happening I dont know what he can do about it except circumcision!

How much sex (it's good to know a frenulums limits) ?

My wee lad is coming out of retirement soon.

OK Folks back on topic. Less of the bragging(though that could just be me being jealous).

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

My foreskin doesn't retract much either, same problems as tbh mentioned. Been putting up with it for too long and Im gonna book an appointment with the GP, so a few questions, mainly for tbh but feel free to add

-Will the GP need to see it or will they just issue the refferal?
-I have read that there is 2% rate of complications with circumcision, any idea what they are? (Ive tried looking them up but no info)
-Were you on any treatment before it was decided to cut? (ie; steroid cream)
-What kind of stitches are used?
-Any difficulty urinating before/after op? (I ask because when I pull the foreskin back to take a piss, its all over the place)

Ill prob have more questions later..

just to let you know, there's another thread on this I started a while back that gives a lot of details, but to answer your questions:
-Will the GP need to see it or will they just issue the refferal?
They'll need to see it, but not erect or anything. My initial exam took less than five mins
-I have read that there is 2% rate of complications with circumcision, any idea what they are? (Ive tried looking them up but no info)
No idea, but your doc will fill you in
-Were you on any treatment before it was decided to cut? (ie; steroid cream)
Yes, I was on steroid cream, it worked a little bit for a little while, but not enough for long enough
-What kind of stitches are used?
The only thing I know is that they came out by themselves
-Any difficulty urinating before/after op? (I ask because when I pull the foreskin back to take a piss, its all over the place)

No problems before, afterwards I had to sit down to pee for about two weeks, no problems now...

Just had a referrel to a urologist a couple of months ago and he told me that i was lucky i had no tears cause they leave scars and the more scars you have the more untidy the circumcision will be. So tell your bf to get it done or at least looked at asap

Really? Right, well he has actually torn it 3 times in total! Thanks a million, ill mention it to him anyway! He did say before that circumcision was something he would never consider but if its going to keep tearing and making things worse for him he may have to think about it!
