Well.. the day of reckoning is creeping along. I will be getting slaughtered married next year and I'm doing some honeymoon research. She who must be obeyed is interested in the Maldives, or South Africa. (Lions rugby tour.. possibly a great idea!)

Has anyone any spectacular destinations or plans to share? We're going in the summer of next year.

    Thanks!

Maldives has its rainy season during our summer months. Best time to visit Maldives is October - April so you may get a bit of rain. Although I've heard of people going during the rainy season and they get slight quick showers and it's clear and sunny again.

The new four seasons on the Bosphorous (http://www.fourseasons.com/bosphorus/) in istanbul is a haven of heaven-I was there last week,it's just opened.Incredibly beautifull city and that hotel is in a huge propery right on the waterfront with scenery to die for.

You could try here either-it's just incredible and much cheaper than you might think as the barbados dollar is linked to the US dollar.

If you're considering Barbados the Fairmont (next to Sandy Lane) is beautiful also and the Crane hotel on the other side of the island. All of these hotels are quite big if you want something smaller the sandpiper is lovely and if you want a budget the butterfly on a less touristy part of the island is cheap and cheerful!!

The Rasa Ria resort in Malaysian Borneo is really popular with honeymooners and spectacular by all accounts. Maldives is very popular with divers, the seychelles, mauritius and christmas islands are good options if thats what you're looking for.
