Portable Programs

Hi all I've been getting into running portable programs from my USB stick - Firefox Portable, AIDA 32 etc. My question is, can I install and run any program to a USB stick, like can I install my copy Roxio DVD or do they programs have to be specially written as portable versions? Thanks

Nope not any program. A lot of programs store some settings in the registry or in the documents and settings folder so they wouldn't work if you try to use them on another machine from a usb stick.
