RTE and GAA sport's results....

During the league at the beginning of the year, some games were played on a Saturday evening. I for 1 (work reason's, being intoxicated after the pub) would not get the result until at least Sunday afternoon, via Aertel or Sunday sport on Radio 1, text someone who may have being at the match, etc.

Yet on the Sunday 6one news, the sports results would ONLY include the league games played on Sunday with perhaps Div 4 reading like "and there were wins for " rather than read out the full results.

I have sent an email to RTE about including the Saturday league results in the Sunday sports news and got a reply that it will be considered.

So, I don't hold much hope of the result of the Derry/Fermanagh match being mentioned. ( I know the score already)

Anyone else feel the same way??? I might be different for the championship but I can't see a reason against a complete weekend results service.

Sure enough, there was no mention of the result of the Derry v Fermanagh Ulster SFC semi-final match on 6one last Sunday.

    Shame.

It was yesterdays news. I see no reason for them to include it myself.

    One of life's major problems.

Yesterday's results ............. because you're working or on the lash ......... what next - a summary of the week's news for anyone who missed the past 7 days due to their state of intoxicated oblivion????:confused::confused:

Drink less and tune into the real world for 10 minutes if it means that much to you!!

Couldnt agree more. Would you have them report yesterdays current affairs stories too?

They have other things like Newspapers and I have heard a rumour about something called the Interweb where you can get results if you miss them although I'm not sure it exists.

IMO this is one of the strangest/funniest thread topics I have seen. Sure the cows in the field could have told you that Fermanagh beat Derry before the Six One News on Sunday on RTE.:D

I am well aware of all the methods of getting results of GAA games.

But I would have assumed that with the RTE as a main sponsor, that they would include all weekend inter-county result's on the Sunday 6one new's.

    How wrong I am.

But why would RTÉ report on news from the previous day.

Sorry to hijack this but along similar lines.
I get really annoyed at how bad the Aertel service is on RTE
Went on at 9pm last night to try and get the score from the Wexford v Offaly u-21 game and which would have been over at that stage. The game was up on it but had no score. They are slightly better with the bigger games but still not great

They have made a real mess of the service by changing the index page numbers around. I just don't bother with it anymore.

I was following the dublin v wexford hurling game on the radio and personaly found the updating on aertel very fast-almost instant....i agree with what you say about the "not so big games" though....surely its not that hard to have someone even ring in the score?!
