Sky Box Office Not Working

    Hi all,

can anyone help me here ?

Have been a SKY (ordinary subscription) subscriber for the last 6 years. Never had to hook up a phone line to it but did so today as I wanted to watch a Sky Box Office Movie. All was grand until the movie came on for a few seconds then the screeen turned blue. I could hear the audio but the screeen remains blue for about 5 seconds then reverts back to movie pictiure again for five seconds and then back to blue screen and so on..... back and forth.

Rang SKY and she went thru the usual turn off the digibox then plug out power for a few seconds then plug it in again and turn on box and everything should be OK - it wasn't and then she said that maybe its the fault of the dish needing to be realigned slightly.

I thought this was crap cos' all the rest of the channels (non Box Office) are functioning OK and have been since it was installed 6 years ago

Has anyone had this problem before here in Eire or can any of you techies highlight whats up for me

    Many thanks,

    Spfeno

are you recording it on DVDR/VCR?

that sounds an awful lot like the macrovision protection thingy.

yes, you can't use loop through VHS or DVD/HD recorders.

many older TVs and some PC capture cards won't display macrovision properly. On some older TVS the top 1/8th of picture "tears" badly.
