Many high street photo shops will offer copying / enlargement services - if you have quite a number though, you will end up paying quite a few euro for the experience. I think i saw this service recently in harvey norman for about €5 per photo (can't be certain on the price but i think it was something of this order). Assuming that you have a good few to get done then probably the most cost effective way of doing this is to buy/borrow a scanner for yourself. Even something like a cheap printer/scanner/copier (about €80) will do fine to get reasonable results. Scan yours and then drop them in to get printed. At that point you are just going to pay standard print prices like 19c for a 6x4. I've used a HP F380 printer/scanner/copier to do some in this way and they have turned out fine.

Sorry - as to your original question, i've no knowledge of the Waterford area but i hope the above is a help / of interest to you.

    Cheers.

EDIT - Sorry, found pricing on a price list from Harvey Normans which i knew i taken and had put somewhere. It says pictures from scanned images for €2.99 extra - considerably less than what i indicated above (sorry to Harvey Norman!). Still could be quite expensive all the same if you had a quantity.

There's a couple of things to watch out for depending on whatever software comes with it - one in particular is to watch for the dpi (dots per inch) setting. Make sure you scan at about 300dpi - this will be a setting somewhere on the software. At smaller print sizes you might get away with 200dpi but aim for 300dpi if you can.

Try a small number of scans to print at first - 4 or 5 maybe to see the results and make sure you are happy with them. You will see if they are too dark or too bright and be able to adjust your software settings before you do a larger batch. Adjust your settings and again go back to print with a small batch, and repeat until you are happy with the quality of your work.

    Good luck with it.

If you manage to scan your photos there is a nice pharmacy chain in Waterford city doing 50 of 5" by 7" prints for 9.99 this month.
