    it will work far as i know but you will only be able to record 1 channel and watch other if they are some polarity ie, vertical or horizontal, better than kick in a certain area i suppose u will get the sky+functions but just wont be working 100% as planned

    Splitters like those you have specified will not solve your problem as you cannot split a signal coming from satellite. You could use a Stacker-Destacker unit manufactured by Johannson or one 4 all group but you will need access to where the cables are fed from to place one unit...you may need to contact the management company or company that installed the system in the appartment.

    you need a 2nd cable, or else only record channel you are watching.

    using a splitter at the moment is does allow me to
    record RTE ONE and watch RTE TWO TV3 at the same time
    but cannot watch discovery
    it depends on the polarity of the station.
    better then nothing
    on timer recording I need to have the sky box on that channel to be able
    to record it seems to work ok

    You could damage the 22kHz tone generator. You do need to block power on one connection. A splitter is a bad idea.
