    Hi everyone,

I will give mad props to anyone who can tell me if Counter Strike:Source will work on my Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop. It's normal specs, but has 2gb Ram, 1.66ghz processor.

    Thanks

    What's the graphics card?

Yes i would say it would most definitely play on that machine, even with the "lack" of spec's provided. The game is so old i can't see any recent enough machine struggling.

It probably would, the source engine is very scalable. I've seen it running very well on GeForce MX480's

Is there any video cards or graphics cards that you can actually buy for this laptop? I might download Counter Strike, Counter Strike: Zero Condition and Counter Strike: Source from this website called steam.com, check it out its pretty good, they are only $29.99 for the lot!

If it's the standard X3100 then no, it will work, but not very well. Intel's card works quite well with some, and fails abysmally with others. Half Life 2, for example, works quite well at high-ish settings; Half Life original runs like crap in any render other then the software. CS:Source, by most accounts, runs 'ok' at low settings....not sure why but that's how it is.

The X3100 is DX10 though, so if it's the older GMA950 you have then CS:Source is totally out of the question, you might scrape 30fps at 800x600 lowest settings dx7 mode.

Err.... My first thought reading the Steam post.... I thought it was almost a bot posting here... or doing some weird things. Very odd....
