i am just wondering whether there are some existing technical co co staff who may be able to answer a couple of questions.

i have been offered a temp contract of just under two years in a co co. the jobs is a massive journey from where i live but i am willing to move if it means that i might get a job in the future in a co co nearer where i live. would any of you know what the chances of getting a perminant contract is?

also, if i am called for interview in other co co's closer to home would it look bad that im willing to leave the other council.

im still a bit unsure if the move is right but with the way things are going i think it might be two year security.

    thanks.

if anyone has any advice id really appreciate it.

They are chopping technical posts where I work - people who are retiring wont be replaced.

You will have to re-interview for a permanent post if one comes up , and that will only happen if someone moves up the chain, retires or quits. It wont be a case of making you permanent.

Having worked there as a temp will benefit you in the interview.
