Sand Wedge Predicament

Question: Should I be using my sand wedge from the fairway?? - I'm not playing golf that long and am finally making some progress.... as it stands i use the sand wedge from 80m and closer, i can hit it fairly well but occassionaly it causes problems, particularly for the more delicate shots closer to the pin. Most people I play with use the vokey spin milled wedges where I am using the SW, should I be upgrading? and if so to what?? i was looking at a 60* Titleist Vokey but it comes in various amounts of "bounce". to be honest i havent a clue how much bounce i need!!!!............ any help appreciated

You want low bounce on the fairway but high bounce in the bunker

I don't use a SW from the fairway......mine has a fair amount of bounce so I don't like risking it especially from tight fairways.

I carry 4 wedges and only use my SW from the bunker.

Gentlemen - Gentlemen !! only playing Golf a short while and already talkin about spin milled Vokey wedges ..oh dear !

Pleased to hear your making progress ..but beware of getting hung up on equipment as a means of improvement.

No substitute for practice - an using the sand wedge from the fairway is perfectly OK.

A lesson from a good teaching pro is a better approach that getting expensive new equipment...don't invest until you understand your game fully.

    Hope the improvement continues..

LOL!! you're probably right!!!!!!!!! in my defense though i've always been a believer in buying stuff (not just golf related) that's fit for the job and will stand the test of time; if i do buy a wedge it will be in me golf bag for many years to come............ thanks for the advise though!
