Hi there,

Am doing my dip this year but was trying to get some prep done (notes etc) before hand . My subjects are english and history. I have an idea but just not sure where I should start. Any advice appreciated, I am just afraid of going in clueless!

Do you mean lesson plans?

1. What you want to get done in the class
2. How you intend to do it - books/handouts/things you are bringing in - how you will proceed with kids with IEPs in the class, if you have any.
3. How you will check whether they have 'got' it
4. Fall back plan to re-teach it
5. What homework/follow-up work you intend giving
6. Extra stuff in case you run out of material
7. More extra stuff in case you run out again

Roughly going into each class that's what you need. The amount of detail needed for your Dip. people I can't help you with.

What class and ability levels have you got?

I think one of the first assignments that we'll have to do is make out a plan for the year for one of the subjects so you could start on that! Should be about 3-4 typed pages I think!
