The Kiwis, what an outfit...spend all year playing what is essentially an entirely different type of rugby, flick a switch, seamlessly revert to the old style game and hammer the bejaysis out of a team which on paper should out-grunt and out muscle 'em at every turn.

Speed of thought, multiple running lines/decoys, attacking from depth, relentless in defence, constantly running into space not opponents...magnificent stuff and I can only see them kicking on when the ELV style game becomes the norm, scary thought for every other rugby playing nation. At the minute only the Bokke can hope to live with them...

God help England, the Blacks look like a Killer whale toying with a seal prior to devouring the poor mewling wretch....I'm glad we got 'em first-up cold, untried and in a gale....

Better? yes I'd agree, much better? Imo, not really...a match between Ireland/ England tomorrow, pretty much a 50/50 game I reckon...

England seem clueless in attack, whilst our game may be pahse driven and largely predicatable we do make ground and do put away our opportunities.

England have looked clueless with ball in hand for nearly 3 years. A good attacking scrum and they think crossfield kick........no confidence with ball in hand.

Plus I have faith in Dk and feel he can unleash our potential in many of the ways EOS failed ultimately.

    Inq

England are the only team who can do 30 phases and lose 30 yards

    Carter is too good!!

Nasty injury tate took towards the end, kahui looks like he will be pushing smith for the 13 jersey for the tri nations.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,174 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

I'd definately have him starting before Smith, seems to have a lot more speed and is way more creative!

England badly need a decent 9-10 pair to go ahead - its the weak link in that team, and has a huge impact as you can see. Pity Cipriani got injured, I think he would have at least made a wee bit of a contest.

Thing is he would of made both English backlines in each test be 10000 times more dangerous he's something special and has immense talent it was just such a pity for him to get such a horrfic injury so close to two test matches where he could really be judged on how great he is.

RFU should actually stop acting like muppets and fire Randrew crap player crap coach even worse Director of Rugby.

England were as blunt as a mace they badly need Steve Mehan or Brian Smith to actually give them SOME attacking edge

The fault lies with the coaching, England have no cutting edge, have no confidence with ball in hand, this stems from the lack of creative backplay in the premiership imo.

Cipriani is overrated at the mo, he shows alot of promise, talent etc. but has had so little international experience that the hype is completely unjustified at this stage.
