Am thinking of buying a new Mac maybe September/October. Will Apple have an updated version out then? How often do they release new versions? Looking at an iMac 24-inch: 3.06GHz.

Well, its important to remember two things. Firstly, you'll be nearing macworld at the time of your purchase. That said, IMO apple have no need to update the iMac's and probably have other plans for this years macworld. But that said, you never know. Also its important to remember that in todays world, as soon as you buy a new product, you can almost gaurantee that it'll be out of date within a month or so. You'll no whats the right decision when you get nearer to making the purchase. Good Luck with the mac anyway. Either way, its gona be a class computer!

iMacs were only updated at the end of April. I reckon January at the earliest for the next revision but... who knows. Keep an eye on the rumour mill but if you're ready to buy come October or before I'd say go for it.
