I was in Tower Records on Wicklow St one lunch time and this album was playing over the stereo. It caught my attention straight away. Had no idea who it was so had to ask at the counter. Bought it straight away!!
I googled the bloke and apparently he's in some death metal band called Neurosis!! Now suffice it to say, death metal is not exactly my thing. But he brought out this solo album and it's only effin brilliant.
It's completely acoustic, just him and a guitar and he has a voice that sounds like Mark Lanegan or Johnny Cash licking sandpaper.
There are only seven tracks on it and track five is my favourite with track six just behind as my second fave. These were the songs i heard in the store so maybe that's why.
Just wondering if anyone else has heard it and their opinion on it.

    Neurosis fan here :p
I'm definitely not a huge fan or anything, but I have been meaning to give his solo stuff a proper listen. What little of it I have heard is in fact quite similar to Neurosis (who really aren't Death Metal at all), in terms of atmosphere anyway, if not the music itself. And since this kind of music is all about the atmosphere, there's a good chance you'd like some of Neurosis' stuff as well. Try this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=TtxvwZmQ3ec
