    Going to look at a 95 Skyline GTS, 2.0 automatic. Anyone know of anything to look out for or that was a problem with those old models? Theres 205Ks on it but its only going for about e1200 and i only want to keep it for a few monthes before i can afford something better.

    erm, the skyline model is quite robust and the R33 is a better version of them...

    just keep an eye out of weird engine noises.... even the slightest sound.... they often have a hard life and this reflected in cosmetic condition...

    just poke and prod everyone, dont e afraid of anything except there highly stung engines and if you get qouted a performance figure higher then stock.... ask for dyno-sheet proof.

    That 205k might possibly be in Kms too, so 127k miles isnt a huge amount on a '95.

    Yeah i'm in NZ so its in Kms. Was a jap import to here, just didnt expect a 95 skyline to be so cheap.

    Wasn't the GTS the 2.5 turbo model?

    I think it was on the R32. R33 GTS is a 2.0, and not all that fast.

    I know, they're very underwhelming.
    It must be the GTS-T that's the 2.5 turbo in the R33 then.

    Some things to look out for would be the control arm bushings in the back, front tie rods, coil pack, and then the usual stuff you would check with any car.

    As for the engine, it is pathetic for a 6 cylinder 2.0!

    R32
    CA18i - 90bhp - 105 ft/lbs
    RB20E - 123bhp - 127ft/lbs (sohc)
    RB20DE - 152bhp - 136ft/lbs
    RB20DET - 212bhp - 195ft/lbs
    RB25DE - 177bhp - 166ft/lbs
    RB26DETT - 280bhp - 260ft/lbs (But nearer to 320bhp in reality)

    R33
    RB20E - 123bhp - 127ft/lbs
    RB25DE - 177bhp - 166ft/lbs
    RB25DET - 270bhp - 268ft/lbs
    RB26DETT - 280bhp - 260ft/lbs (But nearer to 320bhp in reality)

    Not too sure on the R34, but it definately has the RB25DET & RB26DETT

    To figure out the meaning of the engine codes,

    RB = Race Bred
    D = Double Cam (Twin Cam)
    E = electronic Fuel Injection
    T = Turbo
    TT = Twin Turbo
