Top Spin 3 - Wii

I see this game will be released for the Wii this week but I can't find many decent reviews on it.

I'd love to get a decent tennis game for the Wii - not interested in all the extras, I'd just love to have a tennis game that had controls that felt like you were playing real tennis in terms of the swing. It seems the control setup is a little unusual with the Nunchuck being used to direct the shot and select some shot types with the Wii controller being used for the actual swing.

It sounds like it could be great or it could suck so I'd defo like to wait to hear in-depth reviews before buying. Has anyone here heard much about the game or know a good place to look?

There are three reviews for it up on Metacritic:
Official Nintendo Magazine UK - 81
It's the most realistic tennis game on the Wii and great fun to play. If you have even a passing interest in tennis this is worth a look. [July 2008, p.73]

    Nintendo Power - 70
If you're a devoted fan of straightforward tennis, you'll likely enjoy the game. [June 2008, p.88]

    NGamer UK - 60
Sideways grip may well be more like proper tennis, but it's not comfy. Lefties aren't welcome. [Aug 2008, p.58]

I've been hoping for a decent tennis game for the Wii as well, might just pick this one up.

I love Tennis but I won't bother with this as it appears the Wii version is the only one without online play:mad: For fcuks sake, will someone please release a Tennis game for the Wii that has online play!

I said feck it and ordered it online there late last week so hopefully I'll have it shortly. Not worried about lack of online play cos I never get to play any game long enough not to get anything but hardcore whuppings if I do play online :o

I'm just looking for a simple tennis game that has a realistic swinging motion and fast play, hopefully this is it, if not see adverts.ie next week for Top Spin 3 at a bargain basement special!

Was looking forward to this game thinking it might be decent with the motion controls and so on, but from reading some reviews it's suppose to be pretty dissapointing.

It's compared to Top spin 1 on the original xbox. :(

Got this last week - quite like it actually, the motions are fairly realistic, takes a few minutes to get used to using the nunchuk to move and direct shots but really you do it automatically after that.

Shots with top spin/backspin are fairly realistic.

3 set matches, each up to 4 games. Not too sure yet if you can save in the middle of a match (anyone know?).

All in all, I like this. Pity about the online play, but still worth getting.
