Hi, im planning on getting a new phone soon, could anybody recommend some?

I currently have a 6233 which is fine but is being passed on to someone else. I have always had Nokias but do like the look of some of the Sony Ericssons, I just dont know if I could get used to them! I ideally want a smallish candybar style one and at most a slider, something like a Nokia N78. My budget is around €400 and so far Expansys.ie/.uk is where ive been looking. Obviously id like as many features as possible and some good looks for the price. I dont really want an iphone.

    Thanks all. :)

I ended up getting the N78 from Expansys. It's nearly in your budget. I paid €450 for the phone and a €30 charger... N78 is brilliant though, I can't recommend it enough.

Yea it looks quite nice alright. I think it would work out cheaper if I bought it off the .uk expansys, is there any problem doing that? Was it just an extra charger you bought with it and how big was the memory card supplied?

I bought an extra charger with it, the Nokia dc-8. Its worth getting as well. It comes with a 2gb memory card, but i bought an 8gb one knowing what the phone can do. I got a Sandisk one for 27...

edit: Check my mini review of the DC-8...

Cool will check that out when I get a chance. 2gb would be loads as I wont be using the phone as a Walkman or even a camera very much.

I'd recommend the Sony Ericsson W910i which comes in black or red. It's only €239 from Meteor or €249 from 3, both on prepay (online prices).

Yea I was looking at that one but its a bit lacking in features and only has a 2mp camera which is fairly dated by now. I do really like its style though.

If the W910i is lacking in features then you should look at the K850i. I have it myself and definitely recommend it. 5MP camera, three touch sensitive buttons, accelerometer - so your pictures auto-rotate when you turn the phone, micro SD and M2 memory card compatible and great design.

Yea I was looking at that one aswell and it does look nice. That SE and the c902 look good. Thing is though I already have a good Walkman and a good Camera so they arent really the key things im looking for.

Small size, wifi, gps etc are the things im looking for which is why I quite like the N78.

I was looking at the Sony Ericsson C902 on Expansys, would you recommend buying from this website? Do you know when the phone is available from shops in ireland?

    Hi

I am looking at the C902 aswell. But have decided to buy off Ebay as its cheaper (€50).

Also, the N78 on Ebay is far cheaper (€80) than Expansys

The narrower a man’s mind, the broader his statements.

Havent used Expansys before but ive heard they are fine.

As for eBay I use it all the time (and for expensive items), but for mobile phones I would never use it its just not worth the hassle at all for saving €50.

There's a new Sony Ericsson with a 8.1 megapixel camera. Don't know what network will carry it yet, but if you're looking for a good camera on your phone, SE is definitely the way to go!

Yea the c905. I was looking at that along with the n96 but they wont be out for a while. Also id be buying sim free and the price would be crazy initially.

Besides though I have a fairly decent digital camera so its not a big concern for me really.
