Crazy router?

Just bought a new fujitsu siemens laptop with an atheros AR5007EG adaptor.
I have BB with BT and an old netopia 3347NWG router.
My problem is that i can't find my router on the laptop. I used to be able to use it with my PSP but even with that i can't find it.
Whats up. Tried resetting router still no joy also switched off privacy on router.
Any idea what i should do? Laptop is finding neighbours wireless so is it my router.

Try lowering the channel no that you are broadcasting on. Some wireless cards will not 'see' the higher numbers.

Have you by any chance switched off the broadcasting of the network ssid in the router options?

Have you checked that the laptop will work with other routers?

By the way if you google for the card you will find posts that seem to indicate that will will not handle wpa security which seems extraordinary:(

Changed channel working a treat on both psp and laptop now.

it sounds daft but just make sure your wireless is pysically swithed on on the laptop. I often get calls from my clients with a similiar issue. Wireless can be turned on or off two ways on every laptop. The softeare way and the hardware way. If your unsure where the switch is look around the laptop for either a click switch or a push button with a little symbol like pluto with a line through it....

as i say not sure have u that done already but nothing more annoying than spending 2 hours doing software tweaking and then find a stupid tiny switch was swithed off!!!!
