    Folks,

Can anybody recommend a decent place to book a golf trip in either Portugal or Spain? Whats the general advice buy an all in package with green fees covered or just paddle your own canoe and book flights and hotels seperate and just pay the green fees yourself?

Also, I have played in Spain with no mention of handicap certs or the like I'm just wondering if this policy varies at all from course to course?

Theres lots of previous posts on this subject.

A package is prob the safest option, but with a bit of effort you can do stuff for yourself.

Hmmm don't like La Cala myself. Esp the European course.
I've done this a few times to Spain. Book flights yourself, read reviews of courses and pay for green fee's before you go.

If you PM me I'll send you on the links I use.

Used plenty of times with no problems.

If you can play Monte Mayor play it. (Costa Del Sol). Best greens ever and amazing scenery!

There's a Golf Tour company in Swords offering 7 nights accomodation and 4 rounds of golf on Jack Nicklaus Courses in Southern Spain for approx €450. All you have to do is book your flights.

North of Barcelona is nice as well... cheap flights to Girona with Ryanair (even if the robbing b-stards charge you extra for golf bags), book a hotel somewhere and then book your own green fees, some hotels will help you with the green fees and even have special rates. I played these courses last year when I was there and they were in great nick:

Villamoura is your only man in Portugal. It's surrounded by about 10 - 12 golf courses. Most hotles provide a shuttle service to each of the courses and pick you and your clubs up after the game.
