    FH,

Set a design fee - If you are going to the printers with no designs on disk whatsoever, decide on an all in, once-off fee for design that you also want provided on disk. This way you wont get slapped with design fees of 3.5 hours @ 70euro per hour. And, should you find a better deal in the future for printing, you have your original design (which you paid for) ready to go.

Design consistency - stick to the one design / colour scheme throughout all your print marketing and promotional materials.

Bulk discount - Get each item you are having printed quoted individually and then quoted all inclusive. This way you can hit them for discount / haggle on the overall price.

Shop around - There is alot of competition in the printing sector, so shop around. There are serious savings to be made by looking all over the country. Dont be put of using a reputable printers in another part of the country, you can save 100's.

ive had quite a bit of experience with designers/printers - buying and selling, as our company had such a demand for promotional, web design and printing that we eventually set up a whole new company to deal with it all.

Thanks Dabko, very helpful. How did you typically differentiate on supplier other than price wise??
