    Brought to you by the NEAR fm Sessions

    This June 26th & 27th The NEAR fm Sessions, in association with the Axis Theatre in Ballymun and with the support of the Broadcasting Commission of Irelands Sound and Vision fund, will be staging two nights of live music showcasing bands from Dublin’s Northside in a live setting.

    Bands taking part in the Axis Theatre Showcase gigs include:

    Terawrist and Redzer
    Red Kid
    Warm Wax
    Red Labels
    Bravado
    EBO

    The Live Sessions will be recorded in The Axis and subsequently used in three Rockumentaries featuring the bands, interspersed with band interviews and acoustic sessions recorded in NEAR 90 fm studios where we'll learn about the inspirations, aspirations and histories of the bands. The documentaries will be broadcast on NEAR 90 fm in the Autumn of 2008 as part of our Music Specials project which was awarded funding in Radio Round 5 of the BCI’s Sound and Vision scheme.

    Tickets are now available for the gigs on June 26th and 27th at the Axis Box Office or by contacting Paul at NEAR fm at 867 11 90.

    The NEAR fm Sessions is a music programme which offers an outlet to new, unsigned and upcoming local bands to showcase their talent in a studio environment.

    The programme goes out live every Thursday @ 7pm on NEAR 90 fm
