CanNOT get tickets from Ticketmaster....Argh!!

I'm having no end of trouble trying to get tickets from Ticketmaster. It's for an event scheduled in the U.K. and I don't have a credit card. For some reason I can't book a ticket with my Laser card.

I rang to try to book it but the payment wouldn't go through. I've been to Ticketmaster in person to pay in cash but they couldn't give me a ticket. As far as i see it I have two options left, buy a Virtual Visa voucher and try to book them online using that or purchase Gift Vouchers in the amount of the ticket and use the Gift Vouchers to purchase the ticket.

Has anyone else had similiar problems with booking tickets for things in the U.K? Does anyone have experience with using Visa vouchers to purchase tickets or using Gift Vouchers to purchase tickets? I would hate to waste the money by putting it in a Gift Voucher only to find I still can't buy a ticket. Or putting them into a Visa voucher and having to pay to get the money taken out again if it doesn't work.

It's getting to the stage where I'm considering paying someone who has a credit card to buy them for me and I will give them the cash upfront but I don't know anyone who has a credit card and I definately don't want to risk a stranger running off with my money and keeping the ticket for themself!

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm afraid the thing will have sold out by the time I sort this out.

I assume you are booking through ticketmaster.co.uk rather than .ie are you mistycheese?

If that's the case then they don't accept Laser in the UK, just as they don't accept Switch cards here which is why you wouldn't be able to use Laser.

Can't help with your other question sorry!

I've tried both, Vixen! The payment won't go through. I hope there's a solution other than me flying over to England to buy the tickets in person.

There's not. They won't take Laser for any gig in England. You will either have to get a real credit card or buy them in person.

ticketmaster maybe a worldwide company but they are run completly seperatly for each country hence why you cant buy english tickets at any of the ticketmaster booths in ireland.
without getting a full credit card or getting someone to book them for you(how do you not know someone with a credit card?), 3v is probably your best bed

As others have said - use a 3V voucher. I've used them in the past to book tickets off Ticketmaster for UK gigs. They work exactly like a Visa credit card - just make sure you bring ID and the booking reference and the number of the credit card with you just in case they ask to see the credit card when you pick up the tickets at the box office.

Well, I'm going to try the gift vouchers first. ID is a probably going to be a problem for me.

I remember using the 3V vouchers when they first came out. After figuring out how to use them properly they were a godsend! But now you have to register online, send them in proof of your age (!!!) and wait for them to send you out a card. Then go to an outlet, fill the card up with money and only then can you purchase goods or services online. I'm hoping it won't come to that because I'm worried that the thing will sell out!

At least I know for the next time that I want to book something in England. I'm going to go into an outlet tomorrow and see if the gift vouchers work, if not I'll be sending off for a 3V voucher first thing Monday morning!
