    Sopranos-esque, perhaps?

Here's some more comments from Edward Olmos on the final ep (previously posted, no real spoilers):

i dont like the sound of what Sackhoff has to say at all. i suppose it will have to be something nobody expects, knowing RDM, and everyone expects things like, humans and cylons end up living in harmony, or the convoy reaches earth and its in the future, or earth is very primitive, or something like that.

I don't think we will get a Soprano type finishing as RDM has demonstrated in the past that he likes to put a different spin on things and I'm sure the final episode will be no different.

I think these teasers by the cast are just put out there to keep the media and fans off the scent while still keeping everyone talking about it. 8 or 9 months is a long time to keep people in suspense so these little innuendos or slips of the tongue are bound to pop up every now and then.

If they take it for what it is on camera, they'll be like, "Excuse me?!"

    interesting. expect a mega-thread.

Well, I hope this will be a case katy Sackhoff just being a typical woman and paying more attention to the characters/human drama etc rather than the science or mythology and that while she didn't really understand the ending in terms of the science and/or BSG mythology and was like 'Excuse Me?!' that actually nerds like us will be, 'OMG how cool is that, how RDM intertwined the atlantean mythology with the colonials and kobol and the cycles and earth...etc'

Careful with the sopranos stuff there please lads. :) I'm just watching season 1 at the moment and loving it. The commute is a demanding mistress for video content. :D

Me too! It's probably the best TV ever. I'd suggest for your own entertainment that you dont watch them all in a rush. They were made over an 11 year period AFAIK.

RDM writing about how the Sopranos ends:

"I'm glad he thumbed his nose at the tyranny of the narrative drive to bring things to a tidy conclusion so we can all clap and walk away without another thought about that mob family in Jersey, satisfied that all's well that ends well."

You can tell too......Some of the clothes in season 1 are distinctly 90's. :D

It's good entertainment alright. I understand your jealousy....I feel the same way about people starting to watch battlestar.

Oh dear. After re-reading that, it does sound a bit mysoginistic alright.:o

I didn't mean like 'typical bloody women', but that the typical/average woman is not as interested in the science or geeky mythological aspects of a scifi show as blokes and thus would not pay as much attention to these details, but would be more inclined to be interested in the characters etc

So when it came to the last episode and Katy watched it, it wasn't that she was incapable of understanding the science or mythological aspects of the ending because of a lack of intelligence. More that as a woman she was likely less interested in these aspects of the story and didn't pay as much attention to these aspects of the story all along, thus come the ending where the science and mythology was at the forefront of the story she was at a disadvantage when it came to understanding how it all tied together in the end........Thus 'Excuse Me?' ie. Maybe she thought something came totally out of left field in the ending, whereas if she was more of a nerd like us she may have realised there were clues to this left field stroke buried in the mythology of the show throughout the series.
