Appartments in Maynooth

Hi

I'll be moving to Maynooth to start a PhD in October and am presently just exploring the various possibilities for accomadation.

After already living in shared flats etc for over 3 years now I'd really prefer to rent a single place for myself - i.e. a bedsit/studio, one room appartment or something else along those lines.

As a PhD student I'll still be on a budget i.e. €800 a month would really be the upper limit, something around €600 would be a bit more managable (of coarse less is always welcome).

I was wondering if anyone here could tell me whether I'll be able to find something along those lines (also considering Leixlip or other areas within 10min train trip) and what websites or other sources are best to use? or are my expectations too high? (although I think €600 for a small bedsit is already very expensive in comparison to all other European countries!! LOL)

Well, in Maynooth there's not many apartments besides the ones on Campus, and with those you'll definitely be sharing the living areas. There's apartments above Manor Mills shopping centre, although I don't know what they're called but I hear rent for them is quite expensive.

Maynooth mostly has houses and estates, you'd be hard finding a single one though.

I am sort of in the same boat as you, will want to be living on my own next year in maynooth although not doing a PHD just final year. But just from a quick search on daft I got this.

Unfortunately the move in date for the 3 options is "immediately" and not Sep/Oct. But its still encouraging just to know that some options do exist.

Will keep checking the link every so often and maybe something will pop up there.

One thing that I find a little annoying with Daft is (like you mentioned) the lack of info given. I mean at the very least I'd like to be given the size in square meters of the place.
