    Looking to buy this
from digital rev on ebay, anyone know if import fees will be charged? Is the dealer reliable?

Also while I'm on it, anyone got anything to say for the D60? Im looking to get a 50mm prime and I heard the autofocus wont work unless the lens is VR fitted, is this standard on most nikon bodies now?

The seller or the camera? I'm not trying to avoid paying, just wondering if anyone knows a rough rate so I can work out if this is worth buying in the first place

No the import duty and all that stuff.
Im not sure can you discuss it to a cartain point or not at all.

It's a gamble though some people are charged others aren't

As for the rate i'm not to sure it can be sound on the irish tax website
but you're probably better off searching for neutral feedback on the seller this might show some people who got charged

    Hey efla,
Wary about posting on this thread at all, but here goes
I think the vat is payable at 20 or 21% if you do get pulled up, but normally the seller will wrap and label it in such a manner that you wont get pulled. the guy I deal with labels everything as repairs and even includes a repairs note. saves me a fortune.
Ask your seller about it, they will have a lot more experience and will try to help if they can.

Details about import duty are all in the FAQ.

    Here's a thread to check - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=55183926&postcount=22

UPS are the couriers for DigitalRev and they are Duty Collectors for Revenue. Expect to pay in the region of €40-€60 for the item you mention,

    Dave
