    Hi All,

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot. Was offered the chance to buy an secondhand M249, but it's slightly overpowered.
    1: Can it be downgraded?
2: How do I do it?
3: What parts would I need?

I'm fairly handy with a mechanical objects & would prefer to field strip it & repair it myself.

All & any advice greatly appreciated.

If it's over powered it should definitely not be left that way, especially not being sold on, I assume your buying this from an individual, it is that individuals responsibility to have it fixed before they sell it on.

Changing the spring in the A&K m249 is an easy job.

Remove stock pin and fold the stock down.
Press in on the black circular piece on the back of the gearbox.
Release the catch on the top of the gerabox.
The black piece then slides out and the spring with it, you can then change this spring for a legal one (MS90 is a good bet) and put the spring guide (that black yoke) back in,
