E51 Problems

Hi, decided to treat myself and moved from Speakeasy o2 to Bill Pay and got the E51 which I had read up a good bit before purchasing and most of the reviews were positive and I tend to use my phone alot as a personal organiser.

I am a serial predictive texter and am having great difficulty with the buttons on the E51 when texting, the keys are small but you have to press them quiet hard, at least 50% of the time I end deleting most of the text I am trying to compose.

In the middle of texting again about 50% of the time the screen flashes between two shades of blue, bright and light, drives me mad because the text disappears and comes back and disappears etc.

I find the key to hang up after calls never goes down right and I end up pressing at least 2 other keys trying to hang up from a call, usually end up turning on the loudspeaker..

Anyone else have these problems with their E51 or is it just me?

Finally, if I want to change the phone how long does it take for me to be eligible for a change and can I just buy one over the counter from 02 as I have tried to used the Sim in my old Speakeasy phone and it won't work for me?

    Thanks

You've got a lemon, I'd bring it back to O2 and demand a replacement.

yeah, the flashing's lemony! As to the keypad: haven't you tried the phone before you bought it?
well, I'm sure given time, you'd get used to it, but with the flashing screen that is annoying; so return it to o2! It should NOT do that!

Hi, thanks for the advice, brought it back and there was no problem getting it replaced as it was within the 30 day warranty. Had tried the phone for texting and all the phones available all have the same little keys now with the exception of the E65 and the other Thread on how useless that is put me off getting it, starting to think it was a bad choice now

Read the instruction booklet first. You will find that the phone has a light sensor built in, and it adjusts the back light accordingly.

Hi yes I had read that alright, this was different in that the text completely disappeared like the phone was powering off.
