Matagorda is a very quiet area, about 5/10 mins from airport in fact you can see the jets land from the beach it’s about a 30 minute walk to Pto Del Carmen.
The small shopping centre in Matagorda itself has a few bars and restaurants Auld Triangle Irish bar is not bad. Try the Kinsale restaurant for good food. Apart from that not much in the area, grand if you want a quiet holiday. Was there last June and the weather was poor no rain, but lots of cloud and strong winds.

Let me just say the weather is great there now, I am just back from two weeks, was cloudy all the first week but now its cracking weather. Matagorda wouldnt go there in a million years , its like a retirement village all old folk and a ghost town.

Freekin hilarious reading ur post... :D I had an old laptop that didn't have a working shift key and its amazing how difficult it makes things..

On topic: stayed there last year, 4 of us, 2 couples in our mid 20's.

Pretty quiet which wasn't a bad thing as all we did was laze around the pool or on the beach. Short taxi ride or a nice stroll to Puerto Del Carmen in the evening.
Few little bars around that complex but are pretty quiet at night.
What complex are you staying in ForestFruits???

Went to Matagorda 2 years running and thought it great place as had 2 kids with us and its perfect there, queit and relaxed, enough restuarants to get by and sure if you want to go to puerto del carmen, sure the taxis are cheap enough
