Paddy I was planning an event for the 1st through 4th of may next year, plans are in the early stages still. We chose that date as usually big slick does June and JP does april so we were hoping to fit in the middle, you probably had the same idea yourself?

    Regards

    Hey Paddy,

I ran my Masters this year on the May Bank holiday weekend and was looking to run it again the same weekend.

At the moment the Red Cow are not available that weekend and i have a provisional booking with them for the following weekend.

I am working with a sponsor and looking to finalise the dates in the month.

    Will keep you posted.

Here's some things looking at next years Bank Holiday Weekends based mostly on what happened this year:
1st Jan: No tourney but There was a festival in galway roughly this time correct?
17th Mar: Usually Irish Open Time
13th April: No tourney last year
but possibly Irish open in 2009?
    4th May: JP Poker
    1st June: Big Slick Events
    3rd August: ???
26th October: Was the EPT now the Winter Festival
25&26th December: Yep lets hold one then, the wife's will be over joyed :p

My plans for the Tournament in Wicklow were for the following:
Thursday: Super Satellite (Will pay out in Tournament Buy In Chips which can be used for any of the events like at the WSOP)
Friday (8pm start): Main Event 90min Levels, 20k Stack (Buy In 750-1000euro)
Saturday: Continue Main Event, Side Event 60min Levels, 15k Stack (Buy In 300 - 500)
Sunday: Continue Main Event, Continue Side Event, 2nd Side Event 40min Levels, 10k Stack (Buy In 200-300)
Monday: Final Tables of Main, Side and 2nd Side Events. Final Day "Crap Shot" 30min Levels, 6k (most likely double chance i.e. 3k + 3k) (Buy In 100-150)

But seeing as all the bank holiday weekends with the exception of the august bank holiday weekend are taken I don't think this will work. (August is out in Wicklow as the yearly regatta is on at that time and the Hotel will be booked out with functions)

So its a bit of a pickle. Obviously there is not one in February but then again that would be shortly before the Irish Open and people would probably not be intrested in one then. Suggestions??

    Regards
    Ian

The venue i had this year was for 200 players (squeezed), the hotel for next year can hold 280 comfortably so i thought i would go for 250 very comfortably (when the room is there why not use it)

The Midlands Poker Open was held at the end of March of this year , shortly after paddy power, but all the dates were messed up because of the church calendar , i was on to paddy power and the Irish Open is on first weekend of April next year, what now?

I think we should all come together once a year to discuss tourney plans for the next year, and, if it is planed right get it printed, players could buy a POKER CALENDAR with all up coming events, with all proceeds going to a different charity each year of course, i think this would be good for EVERY ONE
