Susan Atkins - Seeks Release from Prision

So, former Manson family member Susan Atkins has requested a "compassionate release" from prison because she has less than six months to live, just wondering what peoples opinions are on this matter.

Should she be released and allowed to live out her final days in a place of comfort or should she die in the confines of a small prision cell alone?

There always has been and will continue to be a lot of conspiracy surrounding the deaths caused by or instructed by Charles manson, especially the horrific death of Susan Tate who was 8 & 1/2 months pregnant by Roman Polanski. It has even been alleged that Roman Polanksi himself knew about the proposed killing and allowed it to go ahead.

Susan Atkins claims she is innocent and was brainwashed and on drugs during her time on the ranch.

I think she should be left to die alone and I also hope it's a long, painful death.

    What do you guys think?

If i was in her position with 6 months left, i would go on a killing spree, and none of that shooting yourself in the head when your surrounded, you have to go down with style. (last scene in scarface)

I'm with you - let her rot in a cell all in her lonesome.

I've this fascination with serial killers and Charles Manson just amazes me.

Why should she be let out? She was given a life sentance. Looks like she's getting it.

From what I've heard, theres a prisoner here trying to get out also as he has aids and won't live much longer.

Fúck the lot of them, they did the crime so let them die alone in prison should it come to it.

compassionate? does that word not stick in her throat? so she wants to be released because she is dying, everybody dies, at least she has advance notice and can therefore say her goodbyes to her familyand friends ( yes she has quite a fan base since her incarceration). She didnt think about compassion when Sharon tate was screaming for the life of her baby. ( i seriously dont believe that roman polanski was involved though)

I think she hould die in prison, people who say shes done her time and should be freed are a few screw loose. She didnt think of anybody else when she murdered Shaon Tate and for that she deserves to die a slow and painful death.Isnt it funny how they get religios when their in prison or want to be released on compassionate grounds, wonder what Charlie makes of it all.Just wondering has she ever been remorseful bout the murders.

Even if they took part in the killing of an innocent woman? She apparently held her down while Watson slashed her tummy 17 times. How does somebody who commits an act of violence like that not deserve to die alone?

Do you also hope that whoever abducted Madeline MaCann dies in a blissful way surrounded by friends and family or any other number of rapists/murderers?

Your right, its hard to stomach.

But i still dont like the idea of ANYONE dying slowly and in pain.

Not a chance should she be let out.

She should have been killed years ago anyway, she got the death penalty.

Fair enough, I wonder if your opinion would change though if someone brutally murdered your sister (if you had one) while she was 8 months pregnant and wrote on the wall with her blood.

No but it happened to Sharon Tate! The word 'Pig' was scrawled across the wall in her blood after she was brutally murdered

If not let her rot I say?

It's not a theory. It's a fact. It was even in the Bible and mentioned on scrubs.

She should be left in prison. Anyone who wishes a terrible painful death on another human being is completely undeserving of our time or sympathy.

In which case your opinions would be biased and therfore not something our law courts aspire to

She should have thought about that before killing a soon to be mother. Sick bitch hope she dies roaring.

    Not that tricky tbh.

You were saying how his opinions might change if it happened to a relative of his.

That would make his opinions biased.

I always see this whenever people are talking about a crime "You wouldn't be saying leniency if it was your sister/wife/husband/whatever"

    Well you wouldn't!!

Of course it's biased but I was trying to get him to see it from a personal standpoint. He said he doesn't like to think of anybody dying alone and my point was that if somebody murdered a member of his family I'm sure his opinion would change and he'd love to see them die alone and in excrutiating pain.

Why does it matter? Someone did a bad thing. Fine. He's got an objective opinion of it which is healthy. Why do you think random people are chosen for jury duty?
If you chose the victim's relatives chances are slim of a fair trial.

I agree but that doesn't really have much to do with my original question which was, as objective unbiased people, do you think Susan Atkins should die alone in prison or be let out. I have an objective opinion on it too which differs from his. He is entitled to think whatever he wants. My head hurts now. I need a pint.

Well yes, he said his opinion and you started trying to get him to think in a subjective manner. What was the point of that?
