Putting CC details on government applications

    Im filling in a form to get a new birthcert, they ask for me to pay by creidt card and fax the form through to them, is putting your cc details on a form like that safe? Id be afraid iof somebody gettign my detaisl and using them?

    Is this practice common?

    It's what people have had to do for years before online forms ;)

    It's as safe as any other information written on paper, basically. There is always a risk when writing something down that it can be copied/intercepted etc.
