    Hi Folks,

Bit of a problem here trying to use mobileemail.vodafone.ie.

I'm the BES admin also, and was hoping to add my GMAIL account on my blackberry as I've seen friends from other companies with BESs doing this.

    Anyway I opened up mobileemail.vodafone.ie

Selected the new user process, enter my Blackberry PIN and IMEI no. (without spaces).
Get to the next screen to setup a user account. Go through that process and when I click ok, i get a popup "The system encountered an error".

So I logged the issue vodafone over email - no joy.

Rang their helpline 1850287000. Explained the above situation, of which the guy then proceeded to set me up. However he got the same error and told me because I'm using a BES for the Blackberry, that this service can't be done, that it must be setup on the BES server. Please speak to your BES admin etc (which is me). I've no clue where this option can be setup on the BES ?

so any suggestions folks ? or is there anyone else out there in a BES environment who have this service running ?

I used to have this set up and working fine with O2 but I had it set up on the O2mail (the equivalent of mobileemail) before I connected it to a BES. You could remove yourself from the BES, set up the phone using the Desktop software for internet mail, set up the gmail and then run the Enterprise setup again but that might be long and drawn out.

Were you able to set up a mobileemail address at all? If so, you could just forward your gmail mail to this, using the gmail control panel. Not pretty but functional!

cheers Bloat - I wasn't able to setup any sort of account. I tried different blackberries and none of them worked. I asked was it an option enabled on my billing account, and they were able to confirm it was available. Really annoying !
